EVANESCENT

Why do I feel you
In the gentle breeze
Why do I hear you
In the rustling leaves
Why do I smell you
In the fallen snow
Why do I see you
In the moonlight's glow

Will I forever just build you
From fragments of your words
As I play and I replay
Your lines and your curves
Will all I ever have of you
Is the blanket of your soul
That descends softly to embrace me
In your warmth, and makes me whole
Till I snuggle deep into the lap of sleep
Painting your eyes with stains of my kohl

EMBERS

Drops of golden sunshine
Mingle with your steamy sweat
They slither down your back
Arching over your silhouette
It’s like the blushing amber dawn
Dipped in the sparkling starlight
Painting shadowy rivers of trembling souls
On the canvas of the waning night

WISTFULLY

I reach out to you with my wispy hand
Into the depths of a shadowy dawn
The blushing skies don’t seem so bright
When from my horizon, I find you gone.

Days don’t beckon with treasures new
Warm sunshine has lost its sweet allure
Bird songs don’t soothe my harrowed brow
For I can’t see your smiles anymore.

As night descends on tired souls
Its cozy blanket of shining stars
Sleep eludes me, so I paint my iris dark
With dreams of you to hide my scars.

STARRY STARRY NIGHTS…

Visions of an enchanting world
In my head each day I brew
Where aspirations soar high
And dreams forever come true

It’s a world of happy laughter
That heals the hearts their pain
Drops of golden sunshine
Play chase with mists of rain

Each thought of mine a star
I arrange in shapes of love
Each bit of my soul, a galaxy
I paint in the sky above

In deep blue depths unknown
Of the majestic canopy vast
Rise strains of soundless music
Playing with strings of my heart

I feel the kisses of angels
Fall like feathers on my skin
Wisps of longings take my hand
We dance
To serenades on the mandolin

BARED

I loved his
speaking iris,
so dark,
they wrote his heart
upon my core…
Their beauty
I can't fathom
though,
for I looked
at his eyes
and he showed me
his soul.

BETWIXT AND BETWEEN

Some memories
Stop to grieve
In the barley fields
Of autumn heaves

Some dreams
Stand hushed, stilled,
In the land of twilight
Unfulfilled

Some stars
Pause in space
Mulling over,
To birth or to break

In hopes of another day
Their spark still aglow
Fighting to hold on
Fighting to let go

LOST EPOCHS

Maybe
A prince will come some day
And see through time's hand
Peel away the layers of ages,
Blow away the tonnes of sand
With hands gentle as the breeze
He'll touch my tender core
Gather me in his stormy tides
And wash me to his shore
Maybe
It’ll be yesterday once more….
