YEARNING

Do you ever look over your shoulder
to find my presence
shadowing along, matching your step
Do you ever open your mouth
to find
your lips forming my name instead
Does the wind whisper to you
my words
that slither down your skin
Do your eyes betray
with their moistness
the wishful desires of your being

Does the fragrance of my soul
ever drown your senses
in my heat
Do you sometimes feel your heart
change its rhythm
to match my wayward beats
When you feel like you're drowning
in the ocean
of remembered quickened breathes
Do you wish
that your fervent dreams
will keep you awake in your sleep
